Fire Risk Assessments

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 employers must ensure that a competent person:

  • Identifies the fire hazards.

  • Identifies people at risk.

  • Evaluates, removes or reduces the risks.

  • Records the findings, prepares an emergency plan and provides training.

  • Reviews and updates the fire risk assessment regularly.

As you will appreciate, the consequences of getting this wrong could be catastrophic.
